Job summary

NRG Energy seeks an Environmental Specialist/Engineer to contribute to the development and effective implementation of environmental strategy, programs, and processes for the Limestone Generating Station in Jewett, TX. You will help ensure compliance with environmental laws and corporate policies while supporting critical data reporting and project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering from an accredited university.
• 8 years of relevant environmental experience, or equivalent.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert level knowledge of CCR, Solid Waste, and Wastewater regulations.
• Manage TPDES Permit renewal, SPCC and Storm Water program implementation.
• Oversee water supply contracts and coordinate with water supply stakeholders.
• Support environmental compliance activities including air quality data analysis and reporting; NSR permits.
• Coordinate data submission for environmental reporting programs; work with CEMS data and StackVision familiarity.
• Interact with regional plant environmental and operations staff during compliance reviews and audits; develop compliance tools and best practices.
• Coordinate testing programs: notifications, contractors, data evaluation for compliance.
• Provide documentation of environmental support for facility operations and training.
