Job summary

NRG Energy in Jewett, TX seeks an Environmental Specialist/Engineer to help implement strategy, programs, and systems ensuring compliance with environmental laws and company policies at the Limestone Generating Station. You will update databases, coordinate permit activities, and support regulatory filings while collaborating with operations.

Responsibilities include data collection for reporting, reviewing compliance, and advising on environmental projects critical to station success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering and 8+ years relevant environmental experience.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations applicable to power plants.
• Ability to obtain required environmental operator licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain expert knowledge of CCR Rule, Solid Waste, and Wastewater regulations.
• Oversee permit renewals and SPCC/Storm Water program implementation.
• Coordinate data collection and reporting to support compliance programs.
• Interact with plant personnel to support regulatory inspections and audits.
• Provide technical environmental support and training for station operations.
