Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking an experienced Environmental Compliance professional in Texas to oversee permitting, reporting, and regulatory liaison activities. The role supports operational growth, capital projects, and ongoing regulatory compliance.

You will manage air and wastewater programs, coordinate with agencies and consultants, and drive continuous improvement across environmental systems and documentation. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of environmental compliance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and recordkeeping skills.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Self-motivated, goal oriented, and capable of working independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental permitting activities, including renewals, modifications, and new applications, coordinating with consultants and agencies to support operations and growth.
• Interact with Federal, State and Local agencies, legislative bodies, trade groups, and legal consultants.
• Support environmental compliance through data collection, sampling, monitoring, and documentation maintenance.
• Manage environmental compliance schedules, inspection programs, and recordkeeping systems.
• Manage air compliance programs including PBR, PSD, and Title V, and oversee emissions calculations and reporting.
• Coordinate TPDES wastewater and stormwater permit requirements, monitoring and reporting activities.
• Develop, maintain, and implement SPCC, P2, and hazardous waste management programs.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports such as Tier II, TRI, DMRs, and emissions inventories.
• Support ISO 14001 Management System implementation and continual improvement.
• Assist with radiation program and detection systems and material screening.
• Coordinate resources to complete daily environmental compliance activities.
• Provide training to meet environmental requirements as needed.
