Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a qualified Environmental Protection professional to support diverse environmental protection programs, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements. The role involves interpreting regulatory requirements, developing procedures, and managing data and reports for air, water, waste, and spill prevention programs.

Responsibilities include program development, training, incident investigation, and delivering accurate compliance

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related scientific/engineering field and 3 years of progressively responsible environmental experience.
Experience interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements across stormwater, air quality, SPCC, and other environmental programs.
Strong data analysis, written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, perform moderately complex technical work to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain programs and procedures for environmental protection.
May develop and conduct employee training on assigned programs.
Identify and monitor environmental hazards; recommend improvements.
Investigate incidents and complaints.
Assist in comprehensive compliance reviews and prepare reports.
Provide technical interpretation of regulations and policies.
May act as lead or provide direction to junior staff.
Complete accurate reports and manage program deliverables.
Other duties as assigned.
