Job summary

Olsson is seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Industrial Environmental team. You will contribute to projects across mining, agriculture, and chemical facilities, gaining hands-on experience through field surveys, data collection, and environmental assessments.

Work with senior scientists to balance client needs with environmental stewardship, and be prepared for fieldwork, travel, and a non-traditional schedule as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, environmental science, environmental resources, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related scientific fieldwork.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Conduct environmental compliance and hazardous material assessments, ensuring data integrity and adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Assist in preparing technical reports and documentation for environmental assessments, permits, and compliance measures.
• Support small-scale project management, including monitoring timelines, budgets, and scope, under the guidance of senior staff.
• Communicate complex environmental findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in overnight and out-of-state travel for site visits, with a willingness to work a non-traditional schedule as needed.
