Job summary

Exxon Mobil is seeking an Environmental Advisor to provide environmental and regulatory compliance support to operating assets, focusing on national, federal, state, and local regulations. The role may involve advocacy on emerging issues and coordinating key environmental management processes to support business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or related Science or Technical field.
• Experience with US Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA) or RCRA regulations.
• Experience with federal and state air permitting programs, including NSR & PSD.
• On-site environmental or operating experience at a chemical facility.
• Awareness of environmental regulations globally.
• Experience developing and supporting environmental compliance assurance systems.
• Ability to influence through use of performance data and regulatory expertise.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and assist in developing and implementing compliance strategies on EPA and state regulations.
• Become familiar with operating assets, environmental policy, and standards to provide technical support.
• Support compliance assurance systems (e.g., regulatory outlooks, interpretations, applicability determinations).
• Assist in workshops and training on EPA regulations and prepare compliance tools.
• Utilize environmental experience in conducting periodic site compliance assessments.
• Support advocacy staff on regulatory issues for reasonable rulemaking and interpretations.
• Understand company procedures to drive environmental protection and regulatory compliance.
