Job summary

ExxonMobil is seeking an Environmental Advisor to support regulatory analyses, maintain compliance systems, and ensure reporting requirements are met. The role involves staying current with regulations and assisting Advocacy staff with rulemaking interpretations. The specific duties may vary by experience and site needs.

The position is located at the supported site and requires strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills to drive compliant environmental programs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of emissions calculations and methodology.
  • Understanding of Federal & State environmental regulations.
  • Familiarity with Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and RCRA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine environmental and regulatory compliance activities including managing data associated with environmental and regulatory permitting, compliance, processes and programs
  • Coordinate information gathering, respond to regulatory agency information requests, and support permit applications
  • Assist in developing consistent and efficient compliance programs (e.g. environmental aspect/impact assessments, environmental business planning)
  • Provide feedback on process and tool improvement opportunities including impact avoidance and mitigation measures
  • Lead implementation of appropriate environmental and regulatory practices including impact avoidance and mitigation measures for operating facility, marketing business unit or project
  • (May) Lead environmental business planning efforts or environmental aspect assessments for the site or project
  • Communicate company position on issues affecting operating or business unit on a local governmental agency level (e.g. permit application interface with a department of environmental quality)
  • Advocate for responsible, sustainable business positions, clearly communicate business and technical impacts and effectively advance these positions in regulatory and governmental engagements

Job description

What Role You Will Play In Our Team

The Environmental Advisor will support an operation by completing regulatory analyses, maintaining existing regulatory compliance systems, and ensuring compliance with internal and external reporting requirements. The position will keep up-to-date with assigned regulations and support ExxonMobil Advocacy staff to drive reasonable rulemaking and interpretations. Actual job role could vary based on experience and knowledge of candidate(s). The position is located at the supported site.

What You Will Do

About You
  • Demonstrated knowledge of emissions calculations and methodology
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant environmental experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Federal & State environmental regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
  • Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical or Environmental preferred)

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
