Job summary

County of Solano is seeking a Civil Engineer-Environmental to perform specialized engineering duties focused on protecting public health and the environment. You will conduct and review complex plan reviews, inspections, and hydrological studies and prepare technical reports and plans related to soil, water, and waste disposal in rural unincorporated areas.

Qualifications

  • Three years of environmental or civil engineering experience with an emphasis on hazardous substances and water quality; at least one year of which should be at a level comparable to Entry Level Civil Engineer.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Civil Engineer or a Professional Engineer in the State of California by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers is required.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California driver’s license may be required.

Responsibilities

  • The position conducts and reviews difficult and complex plan reviews, inspections, and hydrological studies.
  • Prepares and reviews reports, specifications, technical documents, and plans relating to soil, water, hydrology, land uses, and disposal of wastes.
  • Acts as a liaison and consults with other agencies and groups in performing duties.
