Ideal candidates have JD, bar admission, and background in CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA, remediation, and environmental liabilities within energy, oil and gas, or asset-intensive businesses.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active U.S. bar admission.
• Experience with CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA, remediation or environmental liability matters.
• Experience with energy, oil and gas, or asset-intensive industries.

Responsibilities

• Advise on environmental matters involving energy assets, facilities, wells, pipelines, and operations.
• Support environmental remediation and asset retirement matters.
• Advise on CERCLA/Superfund and RCRA matters.
• Manage or advise on contaminated sites, soil remediation, and liabilities.
• Evaluate environmental obligations in acquisitions and divestitures.
• Advise on multi-party sites and PRP matters.
• Coordinate with federal and state environmental regulators.
• Support environmental disputes, claims, and risk management.
• Partner with internal teams, outside counsel, and stakeholders.

Job description

Entrusted Advisors, a woman-owned and operated legal services company, is seeking experienced environmental attorneys with energy-sector experience for secondment and project-based opportunities supporting corporate legal departments.

Opportunities may be fully remote, although some client engagements may require a hybrid schedule with onsite work based on client needs.

We are particularly interested in attorneys with experience advising on environmental matters involving upstream energy operations, asset retirement, remediation, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities may include:

• Advising on environmental matters involving energy assets, facilities, wells, pipelines, and related operations
• Supporting environmental remediation and asset retirement matters
• Advising on CERCLA/Superfund and RCRA matters
• Managing or advising on contaminated sites, soil remediation, and environmental liabilities
• Evaluating environmental obligations and potential liabilities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, and previously transferred assets
• Advising on multi-party sites and potentially responsible party (PRP) matters
• Working with federal and state environmental regulators
• Supporting environmental disputes, claims, and related risk management
• Partnering with internal business teams, environmental professionals, outside counsel, and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• Experience with CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA, remediation, or environmental liability matters
• Experience working with energy, oil and gas, industrial, or other asset-intensive businesses strongly preferred
• Ability to independently analyze complex environmental and regulatory issues and provide practical legal guidance
• Strong communication, judgment, and stakeholder-management skills
• Prior in-house or secondment experience is a plus
