Job summary

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) to support our Environmental Services team. The role runs Friday through Sunday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, with starting pay of $18.50 per hour.

You will clean nursing units and patient rooms, follow infection control policies, and restock supplies to keep the facility safe and comfortable. Experience in institutional housekeeping is preferred; HS diploma or GED is required, and the ability to lift up

• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50 LBS.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment to clean nursing units, patients' rooms and other areas.
• Follows policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills and responds to pages promptly.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at end of shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions for cleaning solutions and bio-hazard handling.
• Keeps abreast of environmental services changes by attending monthly meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex ones upward.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department. Required hours are 3:00PM - 11:00PM, Friday thru Sunday. Starting rate $18.50/hr.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50LBS.

Relevant Experience:

• Prior institutional housekeeping experience preferred.
