Job summary

Atlantic Health System seeks a Part-Time Environmental Aide I (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department at Morristown Medical Center. The role runs 3:00PM-11:00PM, including every other weekend, with a starting rate of $18.50/hr. Duties include cleaning patient rooms and hospital areas, restocking carts, and responding to spills.

Qualified applicants will have a HS Diploma or GED and English proficiency. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes appropriate cleaning equipment in cleaning all nursing units, patients' rooms and all other designated facility areas, including the floors, woodwork, sills, vents, sinks, furniture etc.
• Follows the department's policies and procedures on cleaning, disinfecting and deodorization.
• Cleans up major spills when necessary and responds to pages in a timely manner.
• Cleans and restocks housekeeping carts at the end of each shift.
• Removes all trash and linen within the hospital.
• Follows directions carefully for cleaning solution preparations and handling of bio-hazard materials.
• Makes periodic checks for environmental needs in the assigned area.
• Reports any repairs to maintenance.
• Keeps abreast of changes in environmental services by attending monthly department meetings.
• Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
