Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks an experienced EHS leader to develop and implement safety and environmental health solutions for its assets in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. The role partners with operations to deliver site-specific annual EHS plans and ensures standardized programs across facilities.

You will provide regulatory expertise, lead hazard assessments, analyze metrics, and support business continuity and resilience initiatives, while fostering a diverse, collaborative work culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; advanced degree or professional certs preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in EHS or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS Management Systems and successful implementation.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; workers’ compensation.
  • Ability to engage with government officials, consultants and third parties.

Job description

  • Develop and implement EHS solutions supporting Cardinal Health assets in the DFW EHS area
  • Implement the global EHS strategy to mitigate risk to people, property, community, information and brand
  • Partner with operation leaders to develop and execute site-specific annual EHS plans
  • Standardize EHS programs, communicate critical information, and implement best practices
  • Provide subject matter expertise for regulatory inquiries, natural disasters, business continuity, and significant incidents
  • Lead operation-specific EHS hazard assessments and develop risk mitigation plans
  • Ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Analyze EHS metrics and assist with continual improvement plans
  • Assist leaders in identifying budgetary needs for risk reduction and compliance assurance
  • Report and communicate occupational injury/illness and environmental sustainability metrics
  • Develop and maintain facility profiles
  • Participate in assessments and audits
  • Provide technical guidance on ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental, incident investigation, business resiliency and occupational health processes
  • Assist with occupational injury/illness investigation, notification and case management
  • Help close out property/casualty recommendations from third parties such as FM Global
  • Support development and implementation of business resiliency plans
  • Provide EHS leadership during business continuity situations
  • Educate and coach management teams on EHS roles and responsibilities
  • Help foster a diverse workforce

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Advanced degree and/or professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.) preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in related field
  • Understanding and experience in EHS Management Systems and their successful implementation
  • Strong substantive knowledge of regulations and guidance promulgated by Federal and State OSHA and EPA, as well as workers’ compensation requirements
  • Technical ability to work, collaborate and negotiate with government officials, consultants, and other third-party stakeholders
  • Requires up to 20% travel
  • Must have collaborative leadership skills to achieve desired results in a highly matrixed work environment
