Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced EHS professional in El Paso, TX to assist with implementing the global EHS strategy, partner with operations, and lead hazard assessments. The role requires bilingual Spanish/English communication and a strong knowledge of OSHA/EPA regulations.

You will analyze EHS metrics, support business continuity, and help manage regulatory inquiries while promoting a safe and sustainable workplace. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Job description

• Assist with implementation of the global EHS strategy to mitigate risk to people, property, community, information and brand
• Partner with operation leaders to develop and execute site-specific annual EHS plans, standardize EHS programs, communicate critical information, and implement best practices
• Provide support and subject matter expertise for regulatory agency inquiries, natural disasters, business continuity, significant incidents, and other events
• Lead operation-specific EHS hazard assessments and develop risk mitigation plans
• Partner with operation leaders to ensure compliance with Company and regulatory requirements
• Analyze key EHS metrics to assist operations in constructing and executing continual improvement plans
• Assist leaders in identifying budgetary needs for risk reduction and compliance assurance
• Ensure occupational injury/illness and environmental sustainability metrics are accurately reported and communicated
• Develop and maintain facility profiles
• Assist with regulatory agency inquiries and reporting obligations
• Participate in assessments and audits
• Provide technical assistance and guidance on ergonomics, industrial hygiene, safety, environmental, incident investigation, business resiliency, and occupational health processes
• Assist management teams with investigation, notification, and case management for occupational injuries/illnesses
• Support development and implementation of business resiliency plans
• Assist operations in closing property/casualty recommendations from third parties such as FM Global
• Provide EHS leadership during business continuity situations
• Educate and coach management teams on EHS roles and responsibilities
• Help foster a diverse workforce

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• 4+ years of experience in related field preferred
• Understanding and experience in EHS Management Systems and their successful implementation
• Strong substantive knowledge of regulations and guidance promulgated by Federal and State OSHA and EPA, as well as workers’ compensation requirements
• Technical ability to work, collaborate and negotiate with government officials, consultants, and other third-party stakeholders
• Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Spanish/English bilingual
• Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
