This position leads and supports the environmental, health, and safety efforts within the assigned supply chain location(s). The EHS Specialist will develop, maintain, and continuously improve programs, as well as oversee security.
What You'll be Doing:
- Practice 200% safety accountability (self and others).
- Ensure site compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and develop policies, procedures, and training to maintain compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Administer training on topics such as LOTO, Right to Know, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, Blood Borne Pathogen, and others.
- Lead the safety committee and safety culture for the plant; conduct injury investigations of incidents/injuries.
- Monitor unsafe work behaviors and follow up to correct them.
- Assess facilities, equipment, and machinery for unsafe conditions and ensure resolution.
- Provide safety performance measures, audits, and evaluate program effectiveness; coordinate compliance activities like noise surveys, industrial hygiene surveys, PPE assessments, HAZMAT.
- Coordinate and manage third-party vendors/contractors regarding environmental, health, and safety programs.
- Assist legal, HR, and other partners in investigating, processing, and defending claims.
- Develop and lead the accident investigation committee and first responder team.
- Lead the site-specific Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
- Partner with Legal and Corporate Safety to respond to regulatory inquiries and activities.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance and sustain a best-in-class safety strategy.
- Maintain and analyze health and safety metrics, using them to drive continuous improvement and create field recommendations.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related discipline, with equivalent experience.
- CSP/ASP certification preferred.
- Prior manufacturing/warehousing health and safety experience at the plant level preferred.
- Above-average communication skills.
- High level of personal and professional integrity.
- Effective time management skills.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to positively interact with all levels of manufacturing personnel.
- Adaptability to a changing environment.
