Position Overview

This position leads and supports the environmental, health, and safety efforts within the assigned supply chain location(s). The EHS Specialist will develop, maintain, and improve safety programs, and oversee security measures.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Practice 200% safety accountability for yourself and others.
  2. Ensure site compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  3. Develop policies, procedures, and training to ensure OSHA and EPA standards are met.
  4. Administer safety training on topics such as LOTO, Right to Know, Confined Space, Hearing Conservation, Blood Borne Pathogens, etc.
  5. Lead safety committees and foster a safety culture; investigate all incidents and injuries.
  6. Monitor work behaviors, observe unsafe practices, and follow up to correct them.
  7. Assess facilities, equipment, and machinery for safety issues and ensure resolution.
  8. Provide safety performance metrics, conduct audits, and evaluate program effectiveness.
  9. Manage third-party vendors related to environmental, health, and safety programs.
  10. Assist with legal and HR investigations and claims processing.
  11. Develop and lead the accident investigation and first responder teams.
  12. Lead the site-specific Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
  13. Coordinate with Legal and Corporate Safety to respond to regulatory inquiries.
  14. Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance safety strategies.
  15. Track health and safety metrics, analyze trends, and recommend improvements.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety or related field, with relevant experience.
  • CSP/ASP certification preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing or warehousing safety at the plant level preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to interact positively with all levels of manufacturing personnel.
  • Adaptability to changing environments.
