Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an experienced Envelope Adjuster/Press Operator in Richmond, VA. The role involves operating, setting up, and adjusting envelope converting and printing equipment, making-ready, and managing changeovers for different envelope sizes and production requirements.

With hands-on press operation skills, you will monitor print quality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure finished envelopes meet specs.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an envelope adjuster, envelope machine operator, press operator, or similar manufacturing position.
• Press operator experience strongly preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot and adjust production machinery.
• Experience with setup, make-ready, and machine changeovers.
• Ability to read work orders, specifications, and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust envelope converting and printing equipment.
• Perform make-ready and changeovers for different envelope sizes and production requirements.
• Operate printing presses and monitor print quality during runs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, printing, and feeding issues and adjust as needed.
• Inspect finished envelopes for dimensions, print registration, folds, seals, and quality.
• Read and follow production specifications, work orders, and quality requirements.
• Make routine adjustments to rollers, feeders, guides, plates, and other components.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance.
• Maintain accurate production and quality records.
• Follow all safety procedures and keep a clean work area.
• Communicate production issues, material needs, and equipment concerns to supervisors and maintenance.
