Job summary

Rite Envelope & Graphics is seeking an Envelope Machine Operator in Pennsylvania. You will assist in envelope production, preparing materials, operating production equipment, packing finished products, and maintaining a clean workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Material Preparation: Prepare materials for envelope manufacturing, loading papers, inks, plates, dies, or supplies into machines.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate envelope machines under guidance of experienced staff.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products and report defects.
  • Packing: Pack finished products into boxes per customer specifications.
  • Maintenance: Assist in routine equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Inventory Management: Track inventory levels of printing materials and notify when replenishment is needed.
  • Assistance to Operators: Support machine operators and adjust settings or troubleshoot minor issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe workplace.
  • Material Handling: Move printed materials to processing, finishing, or packing areas.
  • Workspace Organization: Maintain a clean, organized work area and proper waste disposal.

Job description

The Envelope Machine Operator assists in various aspects of the envelope production process, including preparing materials, operating production equipment, packing finished product, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The position reports directly into the Production Manager.

Material Preparation: Assist in the preparation of materials for envelope manufacturing, including loading paper, inks, plates, dies, or other supplies into envelope manufacturing machines.

Equipment Operation: Operate envelope machine under the guidance of experienced machine adjusters.

Quality Control: Monitor the quality of manufactured and printed materials, perform basic inspections, and report any defects or issues to supervisors.

Packing: pack finished products into boxes and packages, adhering to customer specifications.

Maintenance: Assist in routine equipment maintenance and cleaning to ensure that envelope machines operate smoothly.

Inventory Management: Keep track of inventory levels for printing materials and notify the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.

Assistance to Operators: Provide support to envelope converting machine operators and other production staff by performing tasks as directed, such as adjusting settings, changing rolls, or troubleshooting minor issues.

Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with industry regulations.

Material Handling: Move printed materials and finished products to the appropriate areas for further processing, finishing, or packaging.

Workspace Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the disposal of waste and recycling materials properly.

Required Skills / Abilities:
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical machinery, equipment, and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and monitor job quality.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to work closely with other members of the production team.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Relevant vocational training or certification in printing technology can be an advantage.
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift, carry, and manipulate materials and equipment.

Salary:

$20-23/hr
