Atterro is seeking a detail‑oriented Junior Customs Entry Writer / Import Operations Specialist in the New York area. The role focuses on preparing and processing import entries, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with CBP and PGAs to streamline cargo movements.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years hands‑on experience in Import Operations, Logistics Coordination, or Brokerage Support.
• Experience handling core import paperwork (Invoices, Packing Lists, Bills of Lading).
• Foundational HTS concepts and basic knowledge of U.S. Customs processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process basic to intermediate import customs entries through CBP systems.
• Review invoices, packing lists, and bills of lading for accuracy and compliance.
• Learn HTS classification under senior guidance and coordinate with CBP and PGAs (FDA, EPA, DOT).
• Track shipment releases, examinations, and holds; update clients on cargo status.
• Collaborate with operations, carriers, terminals, and JFK/port recovery entities to move cargo efficiently.
• Maintain accurate, organized compliance records.
