Job summary

Yusen Logistics (Americas) is seeking an Entry Writer I to oversee accurate submission of customs entries for inbound cargo clearance with US Customs. The role acts as a customer advocate and supports timely delivery of freight, with potential progression from administrative roles to entry writer.

The position emphasizes documentation review, data input, and coordination with carriers and customers to ensure efficient clearance processes.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review documentation to input and transmit data for CBP release of shipments.
• Follow SOPs for each customer on the correct method and data required for preparing an entry.
• Use product files for identification of HTS details on the commercial invoice.
• Coordinate with team members on entry tasks and clearance requirements.
• Organize work to track status through every phase of the CBP entry process.
• Confirm release details to customers through established communications protocols.
• Meet KPI targets for Import operations.
• Track and trace shipments and coordinate with steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS.
• Arrange pickup and delivery with trucking companies.
