Job summary

Yusen Logistics is seeking an Entry Writer I to join the CHB team that handles the accurate and timely submission of customs entries for inbound cargo clearance through US Customs and the delivery of freight to customers.

The role emphasizes customer advocacy and strong customer service skills; incumbents may be promoted from administrative roles to learn the entry writer role. Office-based in the United States with potential for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-2 years of experience and/or training in an import operation.
• Working in an office environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review documentation to input and transmit data for CBP release of shipments.
• Follow SOPs for each customer on the correct method and data required for preparing an entry.
• Use product files for identification of HTS details on the commercial invoice.
• Coordinate with team members on entry tasks for release of cargo and exceptions to clearance requirements.
• Organize work to identify status of every file through all CBP entry phases.
• Confirm release details to customers via established communication protocols.
• Meet KPI’s for Import operations.
• Track and trace shipments and coordinate with steamship lines, freight forwarders and CFS.
• Arrange pickup and delivery with trucking companies.
• Handle invoicing and payment requisitions as they apply to CHB.
