Job summary

FreightTAS LLC in Gardena, California, is seeking an Entry Writer to manage day-to-day customs clearance operations for international shipments, ensuring accurate entry documentation and timely processing. Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day operations related to the handling and customs clearance of international shipments
• Classification of shipments and preparation of entry documentation; FDA requirements are mandatory
• Knowledge of FDA filing and other PGA's and familiar with CBP regulations
• Coordinate with Brokerage/Branch/Compliance Manager to ensure process efficiency
• Communicate with US Customs officials and other government agencies as needed
• Schedule pickups and deliveries on brokerage files
• Enter shipment and billing data into systems
• Assist with payment requests and customer billing
• Demonstrate stress tolerance and adaptability to changing priorities
• Prepare and post PSC

Entry Writer

Location: Gardena/Los Angeles

Salary: $52,500/$65k base DOE

Office based 5 days a week

FDA is mandatory for this position

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day operations relating to the handling and customs clearance of international shipments
• Classification of shipments and preparation of entry documentation specifically related to Wine & Spirits importation is advantageous but not required, other fields of experience is ok- FDA is mandatory
• Knowledge of FDA filing and other PGA's and familiar with CBP regulations
• Work closely and in conjunction with the Brokerage/ Branch / Compliance Manager to ensure efficiency in all processes within the company and department.
• Communicate with US Customs officials and other government agencies as deemed necessary
• Schedule pickups and deliveries on the brokerage only files
• Respond to internal and external (customer) requestsEnter shipment and billing data into operational systems
• Assist with payment requests and customer billing as needed
• Demonstrated stress tolerance and flexibility to changing priorities
• Prepare and post PSC

Requirements:

• 2+ years Customs Brokerage import experience with an extensive and broad range of commodities. Familiarity with ADD/ CVD, FDA, EPA, F & W, CBMA, FAA, TTB
• Employee must have basic user knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience with Editrade is a plus
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
