About the Company

Our client is a leading global freight forwarding and logistics provider with a strong international presence across air, ocean, customs brokerage, and supply chain solutions. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Customs Entry Writer to join their team in Torrance, CA.

Position Overview

The Customs Entry Writer will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation, submission, and processing of U.S. Customs entries while ensuring compliance with all CBP regulations. This role is ideal for an organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment and has a strong understanding of import processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit customs entries in compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.
• Review shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and arrival notices.
• Classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
• Calculate duties, taxes, and applicable fees.
• Coordinate with importers, carriers, government agencies, and internal operations teams.
• Ensure timely clearance of shipments and resolve customs-related issues.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance purposes.
• Monitor shipment status and provide proactive updates to customers.
• Stay up to date with changes in customs regulations and trade compliance requirements.
