Job summary

Velocity Logistics Hiring is seeking an Entry Writer in Gardena/Los Angeles to manage customs clearance for international shipments and file documentation. FDA knowledge is mandatory, with 2+ years of import brokerage experience preferred.

This office-based role requires strong data entry and coordination with a brokerage team. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Entry Writer
Location: Gardena/Los Angeles
Salary: $52,500/$65k base DOE
Office based 5 days a week
FDA is knowledge is mandatory for this position

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day operations relating to the handling and customs clearance of international shipments
• Classification of shipments and preparation of entry documentation specifically related to Wine & Spirits importation is advantageous but not required, other fields of experience is ok - FDA is mandatory
• Knowledge of FDA filing and other PGA's and familiar with CBP regulations

• Work closely and in conjunction with the Brokerage/ Branch / Compliance Manager to ensure efficiency in all processes within the company and department.
• Communicate with US Customs officials and other government agencies as deemed necessary
• Schedule pickups and deliveries on the brokerage only files
• Respond to internal and external (customer) requests
• Enter shipment and billing data into operational systems
• Assist with payment requests and customer billing as needed
• Demonstrated stress tolerance and flexibility to changing priorities
• Prepare and post PSC

Requirements:

• 2+ years Customs Brokerage import experience with an extensive and broad range of commodities. Familiarity with ADD/ CVD, FDA, EPA, F & W, CBMA, FAA, TTB
• Employee must have basic user knowledge of computer programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook
• Experience with Editrade is a plus
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
