You will ensure accurate classification (FDA, PGA, HTS, ACE), coordinate with government agencies, verify documents, and deliver cargo to customers with meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, team-oriented office.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of customs clearance transactions for key brokerage accounts.
• Prepare entry documents for Customs approval and duty payment.
• Coordinate with government agencies (FDA, PGA, HTS, ACE) and verify required documents.
• Verify country of origin and applicable Free Trade agreements.
• Deliver cargo with final delivery verification (POD) and billing package preparation.
• Ensure entries are filed on time and freight delivered per expectations.

Job description

Position Description:Working in a team-oriented office environment, the Customs Entry Writer processes a high volume of customs clearance transactions for key brokerage accounts. The role supports customer-focused efforts, ensures accurate classification and documentation (FDA, PGA, HTS, ACE), coordinates with government agencies, and manages the final delivery of customer cargo. Strong attention to detail and expertise in customs entry procedures are essential.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

• Entry writer for a Customs Broker
• Strong customer service skills and good attention to detail
• Entry documentation including 7501, 3461
• RLF Entries
• Provide necessary documents to partner government agencies: FDA, FWL, ETC
• Verify arrival information with Airlines/NVOCC's/ Steamship Lines
• Rate commercial invoice with tariff numbers as well as valuation.
• Verify country of origin
• Verify if any Free Trade agreements apply to entry.
• Data Entry & transmit to Customs
• Prepare entry documents for Customs approval and Duty payment
• Prepare delivery order, send to trucker, verify receipt and final delivery to destination with a POD
• Prepare billing package, bill file, email/mail to clients
• All entries brought for auditing prior to 8th pay in of duty.
• Ensure that all entries are filed on time and freight delivered in a timely manner in accordance with company and customer expectations.
• Faxing, photo copying, filing
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of Import Brokerage experience
• Minimum High School diploma, AA Degree preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
• Measurable experience with PC applications (MS Office)
• Must be familiar with rating freight invoices (buy/sell rates) & communicating with overseas agents
• Attention to detail and commitment to error-free work
• Able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must have solid math skills.
