Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for Ski Patrol on a Winter Seasonal basis (2026/2027) in Colorado. The team promotes guest safety, responds to incidents, and operates in high alpine conditions with expert skiing skills and EMT-certified qualifications.

The position offers full-time and part-time hours, with wage starting at $21 per hour and up to $25.05 per hour. Applicants must be at least 18, able to work in extreme weather, and hold a current Colorado EMT certification or higher.

Qualifications

• Fluent English communication required.
• Expert skiing ability, alpine terrain experience.
• Manual dexterity for operating equipment and safety tasks.

Responsibilities

• Promote guest safety on the mountain.
• Assist injured guests on the mountain.
• Maintain trails, closures, avalanche mitigation, and safety materials.

Responsible for promoting the safety and security of staff and guests on the mountain, Ski Patrol are alert and dependable professionals focused on promoting safety with the ability to remain calm in a crisis when incidents arise.

Job Specifications

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements

• Pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
• Must have manual dexterity to operate equipment
• Must have sight, speech, and hearing abilities sufficient to learn skills, follow and provide directions
• Must be an EXPERT ALPINE SKIER
• Must have a Current Colorado EMT certification or higher level.

The expected pay range is $21/hr - $25.05/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
