Job summary

Vail Resorts in Colorado is seeking a Ski Patrol team member for the Winter Seasonal 2026/2027 period. The role focuses on guest safety, incident response, and emergency medical support on the mountain. The position requires strong teamwork, fluency in English, and EMT certification.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of previous patrol experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
• Must have an EMT medical certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and promote guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions.
• Assist injured/ill guests on the mountain.
• Transporting injured guests off the mountain.
• Maintain trails, including hazard identification and closures, safety materials, and other impacts from the resort environment.
• Transporting supplies and heavy equipment to areas of need.
• Performing closing procedures at the end of the day to ensure that all guests are safely off the mountain.
• Enforcement of the Skier Responsibility Code and Resort Policies.
• Chairlift and guest evacuation.
• Operating snowmobiles to various areas of the mountain, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• 3-5 years of previous patrol experience preferred
• Pass resort Ski Patrol sponsored ski test, capable of skiing all types of terrain under all weather conditions.
• Must be able to communicate fluently in English
• Must have excellent guest service skills
• Must work well in a team environment
• Must be able to work in inclement weather in a mountain environment
• Must have a current EMT medical certification

Union Required Statement

• The terms and conditions for the position are subject to a Collective Bargaining Agreement

The expected pay range is $23.00/hr - $30.61/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
