Xcel Energy seeks an entry-level engineer to develop technical expertise in a designated area. The role offers supervision-adjusted responsibilities and potential to lead smaller projects under guidance.

The incumbent will support design, testing, and field activities with a focus on safety and reliability. The position ties to multiple engineering levels with evolving scope and oversight.

Qualifications

• Required bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum; electrical engineering degree preferred.
• 0+ years relevant engineering experience.
• Preferred EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses and applies technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform activities/assignments of limited scope.
• Supports the development of technical documentation (designs, testing, calculations, reports, standards).
• Provides ongoing technical support for project activities in Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, Regulatory, etc.
• Coordinates/leads projects or portions of projects (research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation and commissioning).
• Supports bid/evaluation processes by performing basic analysis and calculations on existing documentation and materials.
• Interchanges information effectively within and outside the organization.
• Mentors interns, drafters, technicians; supports self-development of technical skills.
• May perform budgeting, forecasting, accounting, work order management in support of engineering projects.
