Xcel Energy is seeking an entry-level engineer to develop technical expertise in a specialty area. The role includes working on conventional plans and limited-scope projects under supervision, with potential to lead small projects as experience grows.

The position is anchored at an entry level with a path toward staff engineering; a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required, with EIT/FE strongly preferred. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET-accredited program (Electrical).
• 0+ years of relevant engineering experience; ability to demonstrate core competencies.
• EIT/FE strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical standards and concepts to assignments of limited scope.
• Support development of technical documentation (designs, tests, calculations, reports).
• Provide field engineering oversight for commissioning, testing, and inspections under supervision.
• Coordinate project portions (research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, commissioning).
• Assist with bid/evaluation processes through basic analysis and communication with other business areas.

Education

Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical) from ABET-accredited program

Engineer in Training (EIT) / Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
