Job summary

International Paper in Amarillo, TX is hiring an Entry Manufacturing Laborer to support daily production in the Amarillo Box Facility. You will count and stack finished product, inspect materials, read orders, and read gauges while performing basic shop math.

Forklift/Clamp experience is a plus; role includes cleanup duties and potential promotion to the next operator level. The position operates 2:50pm–11pm or 10:50pm–7am, Monday–Friday, with overtime/weekends as needed; benefits and

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude required or preferred.
• Counting and stacking finished product accuracy essential.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and follow written, verbal or electronic instructions.
• Use test equipment and perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Count and stack finished product.
• Operate forklift and/or clamp truck (preferred).
• Inspect outgoing and incoming product and raw materials.
• Read and interpret factory orders.
• Read gauges and other test equipment accurately.
• Complete quality and administrative documents and follow directions.
• Perform cleanup tasks such as blowing down the machine, wiping shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the area, and picking up shred.
• Manufacture corrugated material.
• Assist as Assistant Machine Operator with promotion-to-next-position readiness.
• This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION.

($21.22/hr. up to $26.57/hr.)

New Hires Sign On Bonus , If Eligible

$500 after 30 days,

$500 after 6 months,

New Hires Retention Bonus, If Eligible

The Job You Will Perform

• Counting and stacking finished product
• Preference, but not required, Operating a Forklift and/or Clamp Truck
• Proper inspection of outgoing and incoming product and raw materials
• Reading factory orders
• Accurately reading gauges and other test equipment
• Utilizing basic shop math, inspecting
• Accurately completing quality and administrative documents and following directions
• This person will also be assigned to clean-up functions such as blowing down the machine, wiping off shafts, cleaning ink systems, vacuuming and sweeping the machine area, as well as picking up and shredding scrap.
• Manufacture corrugated material.
• Assistant Machine Operator and be prepared to promote to the next position level when a vacancy becomes available.
• This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
