Burckhardt Compression (US) Inc. is seeking an entry‑level Machinist in New Iberia, LA, to support manufacturing and industrial service operations by fabricating, repairing, and refurbishing precision components used in oil and gas and industrial compressor systems.

As a Machinist I, you will operate lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses to perform basic to moderate machining tasks, read sketches and blueprints, and follow safety standards while maintaining records and collaborating with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year machinist experience in a shop.
• Proficiency with manual machining equipment (lathes, grinders).
• Mechanical experience with engine compressors, valves, glands.
• Willing to work in both shop and field environments.
• CNC software experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety and operating rules; report unsafe practices.
• Prioritize tasks and manage tools maintenance.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment.
• Keep accurate records of time and parts used on work orders.
• Identify machine parts using sketches, drawings, and/or blueprints.
• Take basic measurements and mark materials for cutting or shaping.
• Assist with machine setup and proper tools for each job.
• Operate basic machine tools to produce parts to print specifications.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repairs to production fixtures and machinery.
• Work with senior machinists to inspect finished parts for conformance to requirements.
• Assist with equipment maintenance by performing basic preventive maintenance and repair of minor damages.
• Work closely with senior machinists and technicians to attain the desired product.
• Works under direct supervision. Requires frequent guidance on more complicated problems and projects.
• Perform all other duties as apparent or assigned by supervisor.
