Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; write simple correspondence; present information one-on-one.
• Read and understand simple diagrams, blueprints, and a tape measure.
• Able to work 10–12 hour shifts and lift up to 80 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assemble building material components such as wall panels and roof/floor trusses following supervisor instructions and blueprints.
• Insert, position, clamp, splice and fit parts by hand and with power tools; verify dimensions using cut sheets.
• Use a hammer to place metal reinforcement plates over joints.
• Perform quality control on assembled items and suggest process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Follow prioritized production lists and use press stations to place and press plates on lumber; maintain daily machine and area cleanup.
