Job summary

84 Lumber Company is seeking a Truss Builder to operate on an assembly line producing building material components in a non-climate controlled manufacturing environment. You will assemble wall panels, roof and floor trusses, place reinforcement plates, and ensure dimensional accuracy.

You will read blueprints, follow cut sheet layouts, and work 10-12 hour shifts with potential overtime, in a facility with exposure to noise, dust, and physical labor. Full-time benefits apply to associates.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short memos, and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to read simple diagrams or blueprints.
• Ability to work 10-12 hours shifts.
• Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.

Responsibilities

• Assembles building material components such as wall panels, roof and floor trusses.
• Places metal reinforcement plates over joints and connects parts at joints using a hammer.
• Verifies dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly.
• Ensures items meet quality specifications and may suggest process improvements.
• Places material into setup specified on cut sheet layout.
• Operates press stations to place and press plates on lumber.
• Follows production list priorities to meet shift goals.
• Maintains machine and area cleanliness as required.
