The Associate Engineer will assist with planning, coordinating, and performing engineering assignments related to the design, implementation, and support of wireless data telecommunications systems used to support electric operations at Eversource.

The role works with senior engineers and Field Communications and SCADA support staff to develop foundational knowledge of distribution automation networks, SCADA, and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/telecommunications engineering or related field.
• Willingness to learn new wireless technologies and engineering concepts.
• Basic understanding of data, networking, or communications concepts from coursework.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, coordination, and engineering assignments (design and implementation) in support of wireless data telecommunication systems for Eversource.
• Support project design, implementation and operation of wireless SCADA data telecommunication systems to support Eversource's Electric operations.
• Provide support for field construction and maintenance of wireless SCADA data telecommunication assets/infrastructure including digital microwave, mobile and fixed wireless networks, paging systems and subsystems.
• Participate in data analysis of wireless SCADA data communication systems for troubleshooting and enhancements.
• Assist with the configuration and specification of SCADA data wireless telecom equipment/hardware and its interface to field RTU devices.
