Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking an entry-level Welder I for our first shift in Florida. You will build foundational welding skills by completing weldments and contributing to safety and continuous improvement.

You’ll read blueprints, set up components, and operate welding equipment while learning Vermeer Welding Standards and earning AWS GMAW-P qualification, advancing through our Weld Training Program.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training preferred.
• Weld Training Program completion and AWS GMAW-P certification required/targeted.
• Ability to read blueprints and apply welding symbols with precision.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments in various positions per blueprints and welding procedures.
• Prepare, position, and align components using fixtures; tack welds as needed.
• Safely operate an oxyfuel cutting torch and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Read blueprints and welding symbols; interpret decimal-based measurements.
• Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems.
• Identify welding defects and support corrective actions to maintain quality.
• Support 5S and workplace organization to boost efficiency.
