Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is actively seeking an entry-level Fabrication C Mechanic for our Newington, NH fabrication shop. You will join metal parts using basic welding techniques, read simple blueprints, and follow safety protocols to produce safe, functional assemblies.

You will report to the Fabrication Supervisor and work 100% onsite on either 2nd or 3rd shift. The role involves standing, lifting, bending, and basic welding on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship or trade school program (often 1 year or more) or 1 year welding shop experience.
• Ability to read measurements, use hand tools, and operate basic welding/cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read production orders and interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements.
• Cut and shape metal using hand tools, saws, or cutting torches.
• Join metal parts using MIG, TIG, or arc welding per safety/quality standards.
• Inspect welds for defects, fit, and structural integrity.
• Maintain and set up welding equipment for safe, efficient operation.
• Follow safety procedures and wear protective gear.
• Learn proper techniques, safety practices, and perform general duties as assigned.
