Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company LLC in Newington, NH is seeking a Fabrication C Mechanic for an entry-level role on the shop floor. You will use basic welding to join metal parts, read simple blueprints, and follow safety protocols to produce safe, functional assemblies.

You will report to the Fabrication Supervisor, with 100% onsite work on the manufacturing floor and potential 2nd or 3rd shift opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship or trade school program (often 1 year or more) or 1 year welding shop experience.
• Ability to read measurements, use hand tools, and operate basic welding/cutting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read production orders and interpret simple blueprints, drawings, and measurements to understand project specifications.
• Cut and shape metal using hand tools, saws, or cutting torches to prepare for welding
• Join metal parts using basic welding methods (MIG, TIG, arc) according to safety and quality standards
• Inspect welds for defects, proper fit, and structural integrity
• Maintain and set up welding equipment for safe and efficient operation
• Follow safety procedures by wearing protective gear and maintaining a clean, hazard-free work area
• Work under guidance to learn proper techniques, safety practices, and quality control. General duties as assigned by management.
