Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking an entry-level trainee to perform basic cleaning and maintenance of lift stations, water and wastewater distribution systems; and/or water treatment plant. Work is performed under close supervision. Position may require employee to operate motor vehicle and power driven equipment.

Perform related work as required. High school diploma or equivalent and two years of heavy manual labor experience are required; a valid Florida driver’s license with a satisfactory

• Two years of heavy manual labor and use of hand and light power tools.
• Valid Florida driver's license with satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on water and wastewater distribution systems, lift stations and/or Water Treatment Plant.
• Install and repair water distribution, sanitary sewer lines, lift stations, manholes, and related facilities.
• Dig and refill ditches, load dirt and construction materials.
• Perform lawn maintenance activities.
• Operate light power equipment.
