Job summary

Forsyth County is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician to perform preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical, electrical and communication equipment at water and wastewater facilities. This is an early-career role focusing on hands-on tasks and learning safety standards.

You will assist licensed electricians, support SCADA and telemetry work, inspect pumps and valves, complete work orders, and remain on-call for emergencies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 6 months experience in plumbing, electrical, or mechanical work, or equivalent combination of education and training.
• Must possess a valid Georgia driver’s license.
• Entry-level position in mechanical, electrical, and communication equipment maintenance for water and wastewater facilities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preventive maintenance and repair activities of mechanical, electrical and communication equipment at assigned facilities.
• Assists with maintenance of electrical systems and components; telemetry and SCADA systems; assists licensed electricians with high voltage work; aids in installing and re-installing equipment.
