The role supports project managers and quality assurance—overseeing materials, inspecting workmanship, and ensuring adherence to plans and standards. Responsibilities include reviewing contractor progress, change orders, and pay applications, while coordinating testing and site safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; commensurate experience considered.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and municipal settings.
• Working knowledge of laws, standards, and regulations for construction, inspection, safety, and traffic control.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications; document inspection data.
• Ability to perform mathematical computations and analyze data.
• Familiarity with project inspection methods and construction materials.

Responsibilities

• Inspect work quality and materials across multiple projects.
• Verify contractor work for accuracy, methods, and compliance with standards.
• Review monthly pay applications and proposed change orders.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain project files.
• Coordinate scheduling of material testing and traffic control on site.
• Assist in project closeout activities and conformance to plans.
