The City of Shreveport is seeking an entry level Operator to join a multi-skilled workforce responsible for water and wastewater treatment process control and preventive maintenance. The role includes quality control, basic electrical safety, and equipment operation under supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and at least two years in industrial operations. Certificates in water production/treatment may be pursued within three years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid State Vehicle Operator's License.
• Two or more years in industrial/environmental operations and/or maintenance.
• Hold or be able to obtain Class 2 Water Production, Water Treatment and Water Distribution Certificates within 3 years.

Responsabilités

• Performs quality control tests on water or wastewater and uses precision measuring equipment.
• Operates and monitors treatment process units and controls chemical feed equipment.
• Trains new team members on safe work practices and adheres to safety standards.
• Subject to on-call 24/7 and performs other duties as assigned.
