Job summary

City of Shreveport seeks a Senior Operator to lead a multi-skilled team in water and wastewater treatment. You will supervise operations, manage scheduling, and ensure safety and quality across plant processes.

Responsibilities include budget planning, procedure improvements, CMMS documentation, and on-call availability. Candidates should have an AA degree and relevant certificates or be able to obtain them within three years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with related AA degree and two years of water/wastewater ops experience or four years in ops/maintenance.
• Possession of valid Louisiana Class 4 Water Production and Water Treatment certificates or ability to obtain within 3 years.
• Experience supervising a multi-skilled workforce and coordinating tasks, safety, and training.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise work teams on water/wastewater treatment processes.
• Plan budgets and future facility needs; implement improved procedures.
• Monitor plant processes, CMMS documentation, and safety compliance.
• Lead scheduling, training, and development of staff; initiate work orders.
