Job summary

STV seeks an entry-level Water Resources Engineering Specialist to support drainage, stormwater, and hydrologic analyses for transportation clients in South Carolina. You will work with project managers and licensed engineers, gaining hands-on design experience and exposure to multidisciplinary projects.

The role offers hybrid work in Columbia or North Charleston, SC, with opportunities for professional development and licensure support within a collaborative team at STV.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with coursework in hydrology and water resources.
• Foundational understanding of stormwater drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, and design principles.
• Ability to prepare accurate technical calculations and documentation with strong written communication.
• Willingness to learn DOT and municipal design standards and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to travel occasionally to project sites (about 15%).

Responsibilities

• Assist drainage and stormwater design for road, bridge, culvert, and municipal projects.
• Develop drainage plans and details using MicroStation and ORD.
• Support hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and report preparation.
• Assist with permitting, NPDES/MS4 compliance, and standards.
• Prepare quantities, specs, and cost estimates; contribute to scope/schedule.
