Job summary

STV, Inc. invites applications for an entry-level Water Resources Engineering Specialist in South Carolina. You will support drainage and stormwater design for roads, bridges, and municipal projects under licensed engineers, gaining hands-on experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses.

You will use MicroStation/ORD to develop plans and contribute to reports, permitting, and QA/QC. This hybrid role offers professional development opportunities and exposure to DOT and municipal projects across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field; recent grads welcome.
• Foundational understanding of stormwater drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, and design principles.
• Ability to prepare accurate technical calculations and documents; strong written communication.
• Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and learn DOT/municipal standards.
• Occasional travel to project sites; ~15% travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist drainage and stormwater design for roadway, bridge, culvert, and municipal projects.
• Develop drainage plans, profiles, details, and construction sheets using MicroStation/ORD.
• Support hydrologic/hydraulic modeling and related reports.
• Assist with stormwater permitting, NPDES/MS4 compliance, and standards application.
• Prepare quantities, specs, and cost estimates; contribute to scopes and schedules.
• Coordinate designs with other disciplines and attend meetings.
• Perform design checks and respond to review comments; ensure on-time delivery.
• Participate in field visits and data collection as needed.
