Job summary

SWCA Environmental Consulting & Engineering in Raleigh, NC seeks an Assistant Staff Water Resources Engineer with an interest in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering. Hybrid work environment or remote distribution; travel about 5%; full-time, hourly, non-exempt with benefits. You will support engineering design, field investigations, permitting, and modeling.

This role contributes to watershed planning projects across the U.S. and collaborates with senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with biological, civil, environmental or coastal specialization.
• Willingness to learn HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, ArcGIS, Python and related tools.
• Relevant summer internship or co-op experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports development of engineering designs for water resources projects in hydrology and hydraulics.
• Performs field investigations and data collection to support projects.
• Assists in permitting and regulatory documentation for projects.
• Supports modeling and calculations to inform designs and evaluate scenarios.
• Collaborates with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.
