Job summary

AECOM is seeking a junior Design Engineer for its Metro New York Water Business Line. This entry‑level role supports Water/Wastewater design and program management across all phases, including field work in the NYC area.

Collaborate with project managers and other disciplines to deliver drawings and specifications on time. The position requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering Bachelor’s degree, EIT/FE eligibility or progress, strong communication, and detail orientation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) eligibility expected within 6 months.
• Experience delivering engineering deliverables and drawings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a multi-discipline design team on projects in-office and on-site.
• Coordinate designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and final drawings.
• Collect and analyze data under supervision of a licensed engineer.
• Prepare project deliverables such as drawings and technical specs.
• Assist with field investigations, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Support design reviews and stakeholder communications.
