Job summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking an Underground Equipment Operator for the electrical underground distribution sector. This entry-level role may involve travel to other states and requires safety-conscious work ethic, ability to lift heavy loads, and comfort with high voltage environments.

The position emphasizes physical labor, tool and vehicle maintenance, and following strict safety protocols across multiple job sites.

Qualifications

5-year minimum of recent field experience.
Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
Able to travel long distances on short notice.
Able to work extended periods in various locations.
Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
Willing to work outside in inclement weather.

Responsibilities

Work safely in new construction, maintenance or repair of energized and de-energized underground systems.
Assist with installing underground transformers.
Assist in replacing fuses and clearing faulted circuits and systems.
Work around energized high voltage and protect yourself and others.
Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools.
Follow proper company radio procedures and rigging basics.
Understand equipment operation and basic voltage concepts.
