Job summary

Pike Corporation is seeking an entry level Underground Equipment Operator to join our field team. This role supports construction, maintenance and repair of underground electrical distribution systems at various sites, with some travel as needed.

Responsibilities include safe operation around energized equipment, assisting with transformers and fuses, and maintaining vehicles and PPE. The job requires physical labor and readiness to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience required.
• Able to read and communicate effectively in English.
• Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.
• A Commercial Driver’s License is preferred.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while performing new construction, maintenance or repair work of energized and de-energized underground.
• Assists with installing underground transformers.
• Assists in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.
• Capable of performing rigorous physical labor.
