Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Tunnel Engineer to join our tunnel engineering group in the Chadds Ford, PA office. Preference given to candidates with experience in tunnel design, excavation support systems, underground structures, and foundations.

Responsibilities include supporting planning, management and execution of tunnel and underground projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and performing design calculations and reports.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering required; MS preferred.
• 0–5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Successful completion of the EIT.
• Experience with tunnel or underground projects is a plus.
• Proficient in design calculations and reports.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, management and execution of tunnel projects.
• Collaborate with multi-discipline design teams.
• Perform design calculations for tunnels and underground structures.
• Prepare calculations, design reports, plans and specs.
• Travel and field work up to 20% as needed.
