Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Tunnel Engineer to join our tunnel engineering group in the Chadds Ford, PA office. The role involves planning, inspection, and construction management of tunnel projects within geotechnical, geostructural, and underground disciplines.

Ideal candidates have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, 0–2 years of experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD; master's or EIT is a plus. Travel up to 20% for field work is expected.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in design calculations, drawings, specifications, and memoranda.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% for field work.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and geotechnical/structural concepts.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, management, and execution of tunnel and underground design projects.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline teams through the design process.
• Perform design calculations for tunnels, underground structures, and rehabilitation projects.
• Develop contract documents and project reports; prepare plans and specs.
• Travel to field sites for inspections and construction observation.
