Job summary

Schnabel Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level (Staff) Tunnel Engineer to join our tunnel engineering group in the Chadds Ford, PA office. Preference for candidates with tunnel design, excavation support, underground structures, and foundation experience. You will support design, inspection, and construction management of tunnel projects.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering (or equivalent), 0–2 years of experience, and proficiency in design calculations with AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 0-2 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in design calculations, drawings, specifications, and memos.
• Able to work independently and be responsible for design tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Support planning, management, and execution of tunnel and underground projects.
• Collaborate with multidiscipline design teams.
• Perform structural and geotechnical design calculations for tunnels and rehab projects.
• Develop contract documents including calculations and reports.
• Travel and field work for extended assignments.
